Founded in 2014 by the mother of celebrity kid model Mateusz Wojnarowicz, children's fashion designer, stylist and photographer, writer, blogger, and social entrepreneur Ms. Brigette Wojnarowicz, Charleston Children's Fashion Week is a Downtown Charleston, SC based production company and studio through which Ms. Wojnarowicz with her son produce fashion exhibitions, multimedia and publications, signature designs and merchandise, and charitable initiatives in support of children's charities, programs, and organizations on our runway of Downtown Charleston SC and worldwide.

"I was inspired by Petite Parade New York Kids Fashion Week's recognition of the need for a dedicated children's fashion tribute during the iconic NYFW.

I felt Charleston deserved a dedicated children's fashion week,

so in 2014, I independently founded it." -B. Wojnarowicz

"Downtown Charleston is a Runway."-B. Wojnarowicz
Influenced by a fashion, arts, and homeschool inspired lifestyle of walking and photographing her child throughout Downtown Charleston SC, Ms. Wojnarowicz declared "Downtown Charleston is a Runway." and scouts historic, innovative, and renowned locations throughout Downtown Charleston SC for her Charleston Children's Fashion Week photo shoots and events. Ms. Wojnarowicz evolved her personal quote and company slogan of "Downtown Charleston is a Runway." into a photo and video shoot series featuring her signature kids fashion styling, photojournalism-style kids fashion photography, kids couture designers, her son kid supermodel and style icon Mateusz Wojnarowicz, and her selected children's couture models of Charleston Children's Fashion Week on locations throughout our runway of Downtown Charleston SC.

"Downtown Charleston is my runway."-M. Wojnarowicz

"Downtown Charleston is my runway." The Story of a Kid Supermodel and The Founding of Charleston Children's Fashion Week is a documentary and book project by Ms. Wojnarowicz about her son Mateusz Wojnarowicz's signature kids couture style represented and recognized throughout Downtown Charleston SC, his journey as a kid model, and her experiences in the founding and production of Charleston Children's Fashion Week in Downtown Charleston SC.

Expanding Stages & Opportunities
Ms. Wojnarowicz founded Charleston Children's Fashion Week in rising above the negative politics observed and experienced in kids fashion and modeling and on the premise that kids fashion weeks expand stages and opportunities in the world of children's fashion and modeling. "As a parent of a young model, actor and aspiring musician I create opportunities for my own child and share those opportunities with other children." Through Charleston Children's Fashion Week, children have garnered and furthered runway and photo shoot experience, appeared in press and media, and through contacts provided by Ms. Wojnarowicz signed with management companies and talent agencies in the southeast and leading modeling agencies in New York City.

"Although comprised of children, the business of kids fashion and modeling is affected by the adult politics and practices of envy, exclusion, cliques, slander, defamation, malicious gossip, discrimination, and organized blacklisting. Independently creating opportunity in kids fashion and modeling for my own child, and in doing so creating accessibility to opportunities for other children, is a positive way of rising above and not engaging negative politics."-B. Wojnarowicz

Kindness In Kids Fashion
Charleston Children's Fashion Week promotes kindness in kids fashion with a commitment to the production of venues inclusive of child models of all colors and  multiethnic, multiracial and multilingual heritages, kids fashion brands established outside of mainstream retail outlets, and events benefitting children's charities, programs, and organizations in Downtown Charleston SC and worldwide.

In the spirit of Kindness In Kids Fashion, Ms. Wojnarowicz has also personally catered complimentary kids couture organic cupcake and beverages bars for all Charleston Children's Fashion Week photo shoots and events under her catering brand Geega Kitchen Kids Events & Catering. Since the inaugural event in 2014, Ms. Wojnarowicz has created over 1,500 complimentary kids couture cupcakes for the models of Charleston Children's Fashion Week.

Dedicated to Children's Fashion
Whereas fashion weeks held all over the world traditionally focus primarily on fashion for grown ups with fewer and limited shows for children's fashion, Charleston Children's Fashion Week is dedicated to the presentation and marketing of couture, designer, ready to wear, independent, DIY, and boutique children's fashion via the company's own independent press and media outlets, online shop, and runway show on our runway of Downtown Charleston, SC.

Children's Fashion Is Art

I believe children's fashion is art and I am inspired by the art of children's fashion in styling my own child since birth and in styling the children of Charleston Children's Fashion Week. As a children's fashion designer and stylist, I feel the experience of designing and styling children's fashion is akin to making a drawing, painting, sculpture, song. As a children's fashion photographer, I am creatively inspired by the textures, energies, soul, and movement of children's fashion juxtapositioning the architecture, ruins, history, sites, activities, events, businesses, climates, and nature on our runway of Downtown Charleston SC. - B. Wojnarowicz
